As a business owner, keeping track of your contacts is essential for managing relationships effectively and expanding your network. Adding contacts allows you to quickly access your customer and supplier information, which is crucial for communication and follow-up. In this article, you will learn how to easily add and edit contacts through the Contacts page.
Adding contacts
On the Contacts page, you can add a contact in the following way:
Click on the Add Contact button.
A screen will appear where you can enter various details:

Contact type: Business or Private individual
You choose Business: The company number is mandatory. The VAT number is not mandatory, unless the contact has a VAT number and/or is subject to VAT.
You choose Private individual: Both the company number and VAT number are not mandatory.
- Company name
- For the attention of
- Commercial relationship: select one or more types (Customer, Supplier)
- Mobile number
- Website
Fill in the Primary Address:
- Country
- Street and number
- Zip or postal code
- City
If you would like to add a billing address, you can enter that below.
Fill in the Financial information:

Company number
Belgium: CBE number in format 0123456789, without spaces or punctuation marks
Netherlands: KVK Number
France: SIRET
Germany: Leitweg-ID
Other countries: Company number
- VAT Number
- Belgium: format BE0123456789, without spaces or punctuation marks
- IBAN
- BIC
Fill in the Invoicing preferences, if necessary:
Custom Peppol ID
By default, Teamleader One automatically generates a Peppol ID based on the company number (such as the CBE or KVK number). However, if you wish to send the invoice to a specific identification number (such as a GLN or a specific VAT identification number), you can enter a custom Peppol ID here. If you fill in this field, the invoice will be sent via Peppol to the address provided.
Finally, under Other, you can select the language and currency using a drop-down menu.
Click on Save to store the new contact.
Editing contacts
Would you like to adjust an existing contact? Just follow these steps:
- Go to the Contacts page.
- Click on the contact you wish to edit.
- Click on the Edit button.
- Make the changes you want to the contact details.
- Click on Save to keep the changes.
Note: The updated information will only be visible on new invoices, quotations and credit notes. It will not change in files that have already been sent.
With these steps, you can easily manage your contacts and ensure that all your customer information is always up to date!
